T'was the Night Before Kindergarten...

Wow! Can you believe it??? The BIG day is finally almost here! I am hoping that your child is eagerly awaiting Tuesday as much as I am (although to be honest, I am probably more nervous than they are!). Once we all meet each other as a class and get settled in, it all naturally comes together.

A BIG THANK YOU to those of you who were able to make it to Open House Thursday night. I love having the opportunity to talk with parents because your insight as well as mine will GREATLY benefit your child's success even more this 2013-2014 school year! I will be able to really dive deep into how I run things in my classroom on Monday's orientation sessions (10 AM and 1PM).

I accepted this position at Jeffers Pond Elementary about three weeks ago, and quickly had to get things packed up and moved to Prior Lake! I was previously in Mankato teaching full day kindergarten and all of my teaching supplies were in a big storage garage back there. Loading my stuff in a U-haul truck, driving it to Prior Lake, unloading it, and setting up shop has taken up so much time! (Ok ok...I will admit I did hire movers to help me with the loading and unloading of boxes!) Oh and did I mention that I was busy apartment hunting during this time? I finally signed a lease in Hopkins on Tuesday and will move in tomorrow afternoon. Talk about last minute, right? It's been a fast, stressful, exciting, and chaotic couple of weeks. And yet, it's all come together. Now all my classroom needs is my STUDENTS! They are what will make my classroom OUR classroom! I cannot wait for next week. :)
Before picture...what a MESS!
And AFTER: Ta-da!!! My goal is create a supportive and comforting environment revolved around my students. Just wait til I put their work (or as I call it "craftivities") up on the walls!
Well that's all for now...until then, I'll be waiting!
