We kicked off Monday by reading Dr. Seuss's ABCs. Afterwards, I had the students draw a card with a letter on it and they had to think of words that begin with that letter.
On Tuesday, we watched a video on The Cat in the Hat. We made hats that looked like Cat's and wrote down some of Cat's character traits.
On Wednesday, the class was turned upside down (literally) in honor of Dr. Seuss's book Wacky Wednesday! I moved the furniture around, flipped kids name tags upside down, moved around the garbage bins, etc. The kids LOVED it. One even said, "I wish every day could be wacky Wednesday!" Unfortunately that would drive me mad if the classroom was always out of order. One day out of the year is okay!
Mixed up months!
Table spots and name tags all messed up
Garbage bins not in the right spots
Even Pete got into it.
On Friday we read Green Eggs and Ham. I hope to maybe make our own green eggs tomorrow! We will see...
Math and Reading Stations were Dr. Seuss themed!
This upcoming week will be about St. Patrick's Day! And leprechaun trap-making. :D
