Moms, thank you for coming out last Monday for our first ever Kindergarten Reading Cafe! The students were SO excited for you to pick from a "menu" of books and have them read to you.

What a fabulous turn out!
More Animal Fun
Last Monday, we had a naturalist from Three Rivers come in and speak with the class about birds. We've been learning about birds for a few weeks now and our EE Fest activities were all centered around birds, so it was a great way to end the unit;
He talked to us about the different physical features that birds have. What better way to do that than by dressing one of us up as a bird!
Flap your wings!
We got to see different birds' feet.
We got to meet a few birds!
Red tailed hawk
We learned about a few more zoo animals, including zebras. We wrote a chart on different facts about zebras and did a science investigation on fingerprints. Did you know that the stripes pattern on each zebra is different? No 2 zebras are exactly alike and they can tell one another apart due to their stripes. Humans have the same sort of feature, but with our fingerprints!
We reviewed what verbs are (action words) and illustrated animals doing different verbs.
Goodbye Khanh
Last Wednesday was our friend Khanh's last day in kindergarten. He left for Vietnam to visit his family for a month. As a farewell parting, we made him special cards. Though we are sad to see him go, we will see him back at Jeffers Pond when we are first graders!
Letters to First Grade
We wrote letters to our future first grade teachers for next school year.
Pancake Party
On Friday, the kindergarten classes got together with our third grade buddies and made pancakes. We were able to taste the maple syrup from very own maple trees out back! After we finished eating, we wrote thank you cards to Victoria, who helped us tap the trees to get the sap.
