A tid bit more!

Here a few more photos from last week.

The class made turkey glyphs. What are glyphs you ask? They are a visual representation of data, sort of like graphs but in a picture format. We showed what kinds of foods we like to eat during Thanksgiving through different colored turkey feathers. Check out our cute turkeys down below!

In one of our reading lessons, we used the class i-Pad to retell parts in a story. I used the app called Puppet Theater ($4.99) where I can take photos of characters and settings in a book and kids can move, manipulate, and act out the characters in their own words. They can even record their voices and play back their version of the story. We worked on making our voices sound just like how the characters would if we were in their place. The students LOVED this! It truly brought the book to life. We acted out the children's book, When Sophie Gets Angry, Really Really Angry.
Along with reading with expression, I have introduced punctuation marks to the class including the period, question mark, and exclamation point and how our voices should sound when we read them in sentences.
