Holiday Happenings
Rudolph the Elf spottings
| We found a letter from Santa himself--he gave us magical elf seeds. *ooooOoooh!* |
| The letter said to plant the seeds with sugar, then sprinkle with snow (I had to run out in the pouring rain to try to scrape up any snow that was left!) |
| We waited a night and when we arrived the next morning, the magic elf seeds sprouted into reindeer cookies! |
| We were able to enjoy our special treat during snack time! |
| Rudolph decided to style himself. Not a bad look! |
| We have a writer on our hands. |
| Making friends! |
| Uh oh.....what a MESS! |
| Rudolph mummified himself with toilet paper! Luckily, the class helped me clean up the mess that he left. |
Field Trip to Stages Theater
We went on our very first kindergarten field trip to Stages Theater to see Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer The Musical. Before getting on the bus, we got to eat lunch in our classroom. What a big deal since we are used to eating in the cafeteria everyday. It's the little things!
| Getting ready to go into the auditorium! |
| Here we are, waiting for the play to start! |
Thank you to Ali, Katrina, and Melissa for being my parent chaperones--you're extra set of eyes and helping hands were very much appreciated. I am so fortunate to have such amazing families!

The kindergartners worked so hard on their holiday cards for you! It took a few days to get all of the components together--the writing, painting, cutting, and gluing. The cards turned out so precious; I hope you can keep them for a long time.
Reindeer Party
The kindergarten teachers and I put on a reindeer party for all four kindergarten classes. We rotated every 15 minutes to each room. In my room, we played musical chairs with holiday music. The classes LOVED it, and showed excellent sportsmanship! We did silent cheers when rooting for people and silent disappointments if we got out.
| Doing a silent cheer for the last person left in the game! |
| In another classroom, the kindergartners made reindeer photo frame ornaments. |
The other two activities included making a reindeer bookmark and eating snack.
| I got into character that day and wore a blinking light-up sweater (homemade by me) and reindeer headband! |
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from Ms. Joachim's Class!
