Turkey Time!

Thanksgiving is around the corner and so naturally, we've been doing a lot of turkey-related activities.
The turkeys you helped decorate at home look AWESOME!
We wrote addition sentences by making 2 different sets of turkey feathers.
In the process of making our turkeys.
We made sight word turkeys using our words of the week.

Veteran's Day was last Monday. I put together a little slideshow explaining the different military groups that we have here in the United States (in kindergarten-friendly words) and that veterans are people who served our country for a long time and are now done. It was really fun to hear some of my students share who they knew in the military (family, family friends, etc).

We made our own creative version of the American flags using recycled magazine paper.
HAPPY VETERANS DAY!

Last week at Jeffers Pond was "A Healthy Me is Drug Free." We came up with ideas on how we can keep our bodies healthy.

In math, we've been focusing a lot on pennies and nickels. I also introduced 3-D shapes to the class.
1 nickel is the same as 5 pennies
Sorting by shape: cube, cylinder, rectangular prism, sphere
Can't wait to see everyone's 3-D shapes tomorrow!
