Happy St. Paddy's Day!

A pesky leprechaun paid a visit to our classroom Friday the 13th! We set up our traps the day before.

When we arrived to school the very next day...we were greeted with lots of different surprises!
Ewww! At least flush, Mr. Leprechaun!
We went on a scavenger hunt that the leprechaun left us that led us all around the school.
Making a stop at P.E.
Seeing if the lunch ladies saw anything suspicious
The last clue told us to look outside of our classroom window!

A "pot of gold!"
We wrote about where we would hide our gold if we were leprechauns.

Other Happenings
In math, we've been learning about 2D and 3D shapes. We read the children's book The Shape of Things and wrote and illustrated pages to make our own class book of shapes.

We took the recycled items that we collected for our leprechaun traps and sorted them by 3D shapes.

In science, we collected sap from the maple trees out back with our third grade buddies.

In reading, we learned how to compare and contrast two different texts on the same topic. The students worked with their reading buddies to fill out Venn diagrams to compare how the texts were the same and different.

We were able to take our book bins outside one day and do our independent reading outside.

March is coming to a close next week. Keep those box tops coming! Remember that the winning kindergarten classroom gets to eat a special lunch with Dr. Warner in the lunch room.
