Happy Easter!

For those of you celebrate, I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday. I was able to spend time with my family in Kasson, MN. I ate lots of yummy home cooked food, dyed eggs, and went on an Easter dog biscuit hunt with my mom's border collies.
My mom makes a lamb cake every week--it's tradition.
Getting creative at breakfast.
Minion eggs!
My mom and I at the dog biscuit hunt
In class, we read The Tale of Peter Rabbit and made our own Peter Rabbits. We wrote about what we would do if we were Peter Rabbit. Their answers were pretty divided--some students would've listen to their mother while others would've snuck off and gone into Mr. McGregor's garden.
I would go in the garden and get all his food.
I would stay home and play with my friends!
I would listen to my mom.
I would stay home so I would not be in a pie.
I would trip him and eat vegetables.
I would listen to my mom and I would go with my sisters.
The rainy (and SNOWY?!?!) weather has been so gloomy. However, I keep reminding the kindergartners that April showers bring May flowers. Green days are ahead of us! On Friday, the class made some rainy day people.

In math, we've been working on showing teen numbers with ten sticks and centimeter cubes and writing the sentences 10 + __ = ___ or as 10 = ___ + ___.

The class learned a new memory game that has sentences 10 + __ = ___ to help remember the teen number pattern. They played with buddies.

In writing, the class learned about Super E and how he makes the vowels say their name. Check out the story of Super E on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3oA4wfUBak&list=PLaPdeqWXhV_ZYHLM_Br1cgBqs2EOY2uYQ&index=4

Here's a few other songs to check out.

We made our own Super E's and "flew" him at the end of words.

A big shout out to our Lexi who represented kindergarten at our All School Morning Meeting last Friday.
See you next week at conferences!
